Discover Alila Villas Uluwatu. I know that Bali has the image of being super busy. And I’m certainly not going to deny that there are no places where that is the case. But rest assure, Bali has numerous places where you can enjoy yourself in peace and quiet.
In addition, Bali is not the only tropical and beautiful island that Indonesia has to offer. But it is of course a popular island that is quite adapted to the guests it receives.

Those looking for ultra luxurious hotels in Bali on the beach can of course go to a number of places. I had the privilege of staying at the beautiful Alila Villas Uluwatu. For me it was the first time that I was able to stay in one of the Alila hotels.
Although we offer Alila hotels at several of our destinations. Expectations were therefore high. Of course I try to look at each ultra luxury hotel individually and do not want to compare with destinations from our portfolio such as Maldives or Dubai.
Where Alila Villas Uluwatu makes the difference
What I can do is make a comparison with other hotels in Bali. A number of things I immediately noticed. A warm welcome awaits you upon arrival. In contrast to the queue you have to make tat the reception in hotels in Europe, where you simply stand in line.
To me it all starts with the experience, a tailor-made personal welcome is provided here at Alila Villa Uluwatu. The approach is: just take a seat and relax. Of course, the classic welcome drink is not missed just as a refreshing guest towel, which you can really use in the ultra-high humidity season.
A view to admire at Alila Villas Uluwatu
Actually, I was completely taken in the beautiful view upon arrival of the hotel. Eagerly waiting to discover more, of course. The entrance is designed in such a way that you have a view from the arrival area to the very end of the domain.
I was really lucky with the weather during my trip through Bali and the clear blue sky and radiant sun give the resort an idyllic glow that makes you just think, wow, wow, wow. I really want to be here for a whole week.
Alila Villas Uluwatu is an architectural gem
Now, I am aware that every traveller has different interests and that one traveller is looking for a hotel built in the traditional style of the destination, but other travellers also like a resort with a modern contemporary touch. And others might prefer a combination during their journey.
For me, the resort, built in a modern style, completely blends in with the surroundings and that is what makes it such a unique location to stay. I especially loved the Sunset Cabana Bar that overlooks the ocean. Breathtaking sunsets, check!
Experience hospitality during your stay
I cannot emphasize it enough, in Asia there are indeed numerous destinations where Hospitality is really written with a capital letter and can also be experienced as such. That is why I particularly enjoy traveling to Asia, I like to be pampered. Now I have admit it!
The staff at Alila Villas Uluwatu is very helpful. I also thought the butler service was great. But despite the emotion the word “butler” might call to you as being distant, detached or cold it was nothing like that. On the contrary, the staff is very good at making you feel comfortable and at home with a very warm welcome and support.
Culinary experience & wellness
Whenever I can, I prefer to dine outside. We, here in Belgium, are being locked up for almost 6 months during the long and cold winter months. So I was happy to have this option during my stay in Bali. Although at dinner time, suddenly a heavy rainfall came up, we could still sit outside covered. It didn’t spoil the fun of a culinary experience.
Since I often follow intensive programs when I travel, a treatment in the spa is always welcome. It never happens that I let such an opportunity pass by. Here too, once again a very personal approach. Now with 65 villas this beautiful and luxurious hotel has it’s personal approach as a signature.
Yes, I really do like hotels that go beyond the “extra mile”, because honestly? That is also what I am looking for to cater for our guests. My stay at Alila Villas Uluwatu certainly exceeded my expectations and I am confident that I will return in the future.
